WeBlog Roundup (WBRU): What is your blog about?

Summer Amin (SA): I blog about my experiences as an aspiring entrepreneur (both the highs and lows associated with it). I launched my company in February 2010, and since then, I’ve been writing about topics such as: how I got to where I am, mistakes I made along the way, what led me to go out on my own, how I picked the name of company, the financial struggles and instability that I’ve dealt with, etc.

WBRU: How did you pick the topic for summer goes solo?

SA: I struggled with the decision to become an entrepreneur for a long time and know many others who are in the same place. Once I finally made the leap, I wanted to be able to share my experience, hoping it will inspire others… or, at the very least, prepare them!

WBRU: How is summer goes solo different from other blogs that cover the same or similar information?

SA: While it’s a blog associated with my business, it’s fairly personal in nature so it provides clients with insight into who they’re working with. Very often, they’ve visited my site and read my blog before we even meet, so when we do get together, the ice has already been broken in a way.

WBRU: What do you like most about blogging?

SA: It’s very therapeutic. Blogging helps me process the physical, mental, and emotional toll I’ve experienced as an entrepreneur. It’s also very rewarding to hear that others can relate to what I’m going through (makes me feel less alone and vice versa).

WBRU: How often do you update summer goes solo?

SA: Every 1-2 months, but I hope to blog more frequently in 2011!

  1. I blog about life growing up in a family of fourteen. Funny stories and observations by me, the eldest of the bunch. Thank you.
